Big Changes for VAT in Construction Sector

It appears that very few people are aware that in October 2019 there is a major change in the way VAT is to be accounted for in the Construction Sector.

Trades people, sub-contractors and so on i.e. those working for other builders and developers will require to be paid NET of VAT and the developer will require to pay the VAT shown on the sub-contractor’s invoice to HMRC. This is called the Domestic Reverse Charge. Those billing for their work done in the sector will need to know when the rules apply.
