It seems likely Labour will win the election, and if so, they have said there will not be a Budget until after the Summer Recess (September?). That said, there is the commitment to put VAT on school fees quickly, so it is possible that some tax changes could be announced via written ministerial statement before the summer recess. As we write, the Labour Manifesto is due to be published later this week, and tax specialists are eagerly watching for signals that capital gains tax or other “wealth” based taxes could be increased.
